Weight Loss/Gain: I'm currently at 117.5 so I've only gained 2 lbs from my original weight but since I was down to 113 at my last check in that's + 4.5 lbs!
Sleep: I'm so tired all the time. I could sleep for twelve hours straight every day. My current job has me waking up at 5:30am and that totally sucks. So I come home and take a well deserved nap!
Movement: I wanted to note that my mom corrected herself and actually didn't feel me until 16 weeks. She said "I should have known better than to rely on memory for something that happened over 20 years ago!" But I felt baby girl moving right at 17 weeks. At first it just felt like a few bubbles so I wasn't really sure it was her. But the next day we went into the birth center and they used the fetal doppler to listen to her heart beat. I could feel her moving around and pushing the doppler away and you could hear her movements at the same time so I knew it was her. She's a strong little thing!
Cravings/Aversions:I pretty much need to eat ALL the time. I don't eat huge portions, but I feel like I need to constantly snack throughout the day. I'm really not digging meat right now. Except for steak. But everything else kind of grosses me out.
What I Miss: I've been craving anything with alcohol. So, boo.
Mood: I feel like my emotions have been pretty manageable except for when they aren't. I've told Ben "Look, I thought I was going to be in control of these hormones, but I'm not. And I know that I'm being irrational, I just can't stop myself." Sorry babe...
Milestones: First appointment at the birth center down! I absolutely loved it & I am so excited to be having a birth experience out of the hospital if all goes well! We know gender but I have yet to go shopping. I feel like once I start I won't be able to stop myself!
Best Moment this Week: Feeling her move of course! I can't wait for it to get stronger and for Ben to be able to feel her.
Upcoming Appointments/Events: I have my 20 week ultrasound scheduled for the 24th of this month. And if you're really good at math you know that I won't quite be 20 weeks at that appointment but apparently they can do it any time after 18 weeks. So, yay for seeing baby girl! That will probably be my last ultrasound though so I'm kind of bummed about that.
Baby's Development: Baby girl weighs about 5 oz (or more since she measured 4 oz at 15 weeks!) and is the size of a sweet potato. Bones have started to ossify and become hard. Joints are fully active and moving.
Mom's Development: We have colostrum folks. Yeah, maybe that's a bit TMI for some of you but, oh well. The doctor said that's a good sign and since I plan on breastfeeding I'm super happy & hope things continue to go well!
Looking forward to: This month going by really fast! I can't believe it's almost already halfway over. We are going to Arizona for the Fourth of July and I can't wait to go home & love on everyone!
