Lemon Love

I'm not sure what it is about school that makes it so hard for me to blog but it probably has something to do with spending so much time on the computer that the last thing I want to do is sit down and type some more. Breaks are perfect for blogging. And I know it might not seem like it, but lemons are perfect too. I know, how did I go from school --> blogging --> lemons?
Noodles.
A woman's mind is noodles. Everything is mixed up together and it all makes sense.
Sometimes.

Back to lemons - they're awesome. Let me tell you why.

- Full of Vitamin C: Immune support
- Contain Pectin: Colon health & antibacterial properties
- Balances pH: that's good for us ladies!
- Aids Digestion: Increases metabolism
- Reduces inflammation
- Helps cure a cold!
- Nourishes Brain & Nerve cells
- Strengthens liver (that's a big one with New Year's Eve around the corner!)
- Prevents wrinkles & acne
- Helps prevent UTI's (hallelujah!)
- Although they are acidic, they actually alkalizing in nature.
^^ That is so important for your health!
- They contain anti-cancer compounds

See? I told you they are awesome.
But there's more.

You can use lemon to clean, too!
I used it just the other day to take the "rainbow" film off my new copper pots.
So in my book, lemons are a life saver.

- You can use lemon on Brass, Chrome, Copper, & other metals
- Run half a lemon over your cutting board & leave over night
to disinfect and help remove stains
- Use lemon juice & a toothbrush to clean grout
- Place a cup of water with a few slices of lemon in your microwave for a few minutes.
Let the steam work on any build up and wipe it clean!
- Toss a used lemon down your garbage disposal for a scented sink.
- Soak clothes in hot water & lemon juice, wash, & sun dry to remove stains & brighten whites
- Add a few drops of lemon juice to dish soap to increase degreasing ability
- Leave half a lemon in your refrigerator to absorb smells
- Remove hard water stains in the house & grease stains on clothes with lemon, too!

Lastly,  beauty tips.
- Use a diluted lemon juice rinse on hair to leave it softer & shinier
- Mix sugar and lemon for a face & body scrub

In this house, we love lemon.
